The Kind Faces

Behind every item of clothing there are tons of faces. Meet a small selection of the large group of heroes who make our clothing. We could write a whole book about all faces behind Be Kind (maybe we'll do that sometime in the future), but for now that's not feasible. We hope that you can get a glimpse of the beauty behind the clothing this way. These 'Kind Faces' work in the Soeiro factory. You will find this company in a small town in Portugal, just outside the city of Porto. Soeiro is a wonderful family business with over 30 years of experience in the clothing industry. Here, the Be Kind items are carefully assembled by a team of talented and enthusiastic people. We fell in love with the passion and expertise of this team: a hundred beautiful people who work closely together to create the pieces of clothing. Some Soeiro employees have been working at the company since it was founded in 1986. Most of them live around the corner of the company and walk home with their families for lunch.

Zeza is part of the sewing team and is a great professional woman. She plays an important role in the sampling department and also in line production. She has been working at Soeiro for 12 years. When she is not at work, she likes to be on the dance floor to dance and she also likes gymnastics. She lives 5 minutes away from the factory and can go home for a nice lunch break.

Rosa is Queen Quality. All clothing from Be Kind passed through her hands to check the quality and accuracy of the materials. Rosa has been working at Soeiro for 13 years. She enjoys her work and finds it fantastic to see the final result of every item of clothing. Her colleagues feel like a second family to her. When she is not at work, she likes to spend time with her friends and likes to cuddle with her grandchild. Her favorite food is Bacalhau, a traditional Portuguese fish dish.

Celia coordinates the team of seamstresses. With her team, she has transformed all Be Kind designs into items of clothing. She enjoys seeing everything come together as one. In her spare time, she is an avid Crossfitter and her favorite dish is 'Duck rice'. She has been working at Soeiro for 20 years and her colleagues feel like family to her. Celia lives near the factory and likes to go home during her lunch break for a little power nap.

Manuela is Princess Patterns. After studying Modeling, Manuela started at Soeiro and has been working here for more than 22 (!) years. She has an eye for detail and knows how to translate every technical drawing into beautiful creations. Manuela likes to spend her free time with her two children and she loves to read. She loves Portuguese food, especially chicken with rice. She enjoys her versatile job and for her team she hopes for growth, structure and even more focus.

Ana is the important bridge between Be Kind and the creators. She has been working at Soeiro for 12 years and sees every day as a new opportunity to learn and enjoy. Ana is proud to be part of the Be Kind movement and loves challenges and finding solutions.For the clothing industry, Ana hopes that parents will set an example for children in making conscious choices. She hopes that parents show their children how important sustainability is.She dreams of an industry in which craftsmanship is appreciated again. She hopes that people will understand more about the beauty and complexity behind each item of clothing.When she's not at work, she likes to sleep, because since she's a mother, she doesn't get that much sleep. Ana dreams of a world in which her son can be himself, gets opportunities and can be happy. She would like to give him the foundation of a stable family.

Our Newest Production Partner, Dinadi in Nepal

Dinadi ensures that all knitters receive 115% of the living wage, and office staff receive 120%. They also foster a friendly community environment, allowing knitters to work from home and meet together in the office for games and community building.

When selecting production partners, one criterion I consider is whether I would want to work there myself. With our partners in Nepal, I definitely would.

I was impressed by their thoughtful approach to creating pieces and empowering the local community. They have cultivated an environment where culture is appreciated, and I would love to work there and am proud to partner with them!
